We are looking for an applicant with a relevant degree who is committed to starting a career in teaching. You must be enthusiastic and passionate about your subject as well as working with young people aged 16-19.

Trainees will be given a fixed term contract over the training period, which is two years, and will divide their time between teaching and learning support duties. Applications from candidates who wish to be a part time trainee teacher (minimum of 4 days, 0.8 FTE) will also be considered.

We are seeking to appoint a Science Assistant/Cleaner who can work safely and efficiently both individually and as part of the team in our well-equipped and busy Science Department. Some relevant experience working in a laboratory environment with glassware and hazardous chemicals is desirable however, training will be provided.

This is a permanent position, working 30 hours a week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 1 day pro rata to be worked in the holidays). The start and finishing times are from 9am until 3.30pm Monday to Friday (with a half hour unpaid lunch break)

The pro rata salary for this post is £15,962 per annum, which includes 5.6 weeks of holiday pay. This is based on spine point 6 within grade 2 of the support staff pay spine for which the current full-time salary is £23,162 per annum.

The Science Department

The successful candidate will join the Science Technician team of 6 staff, which is managed by the Science Technician Manager. The department has a very high reputation for quality, is extremely popular and is expanding. It is a really friendly and supportive department but is often extremely busy and hectic with over 1500 students involved in all courses. The majority of these students are on A level and A2 courses undertaking standard and assessed coursework practicals. There are 12 large and well-equipped laboratories for practical work and 6 preparation areas for technical staff.

The College of Richard Collyer in Horsham, ‘Collyer’s’, is one of the leading sixth form colleges in the country and the no.1 choice for A Levels in West Sussex.

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic A-Level Head of Subject and teacher, who has  a clear commitment to outstanding outcomes. The successful applicant will be expected to lead and deliver on all units of the A-Level course (Pearson Edexcel 9GEO), as well as encourage student progression and interest through subject-related activities, such as workshops and extra-curricular activities.

Approximately 70% of our offer is A-Levels, with 25% comprising Level 3 vocational and technical qualifications, and 5% comprising our Transition courses for students to bolster their Level 2 qualifications before progressing to Level 3. Alongside our academic, vocational and technical course we have a thriving enrichment programme with over 130 activities available to all students from sports, to arts and crafts and music

Qualifications:  A degree in Geography or a related subject with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET).
Experience:  Current or recent experience of teaching A-Level Geography
Knowledge and Skills:  An excellent understanding of the content and skills required for successful delivery of A-Level Geography.

Experience of successfully managing a teaching team is desirable but not essential, therefore would be suitable for someone taking on their first curriculum management role.  

Personal Qualities:  Excellent teamwork and communication skills, flexibility and effective organisation.
Motivation and expectations:  A commitment to high standards, to motivate and support students and staff.

An enthusiasm for teaching and supporting students.

The college has three faculties: Arts, Business and Science; and Geography is part of the Arts Faculty. Members of the teaching staff are also personal tutors.  Tutors monitor progress and offer support and guidance to twenty-five students. The ability to contribute to the enrichment programme would also be welcome.

Salary range: On the SFCA salary scale £30,500 (Point 1) to £47,133 (Point 9) + Responsibility Allowance as Head of Subject from £1,050 rising to  £4,280 depending on experience.

The full-time annual salary for the role is £29,796 - £32,473 inclusive of the fringe allowance.

The actual annual salary, based on 0.49 FTE (3 days/ 21 hours a week) is £14,710 - £16,031 per annum inclusive of fringe allowance.

Godalming College is looking to appoint an individual to manage the Independent Learning Centre and its staff ensuring that it provides an excellent resource to best support students with their learning. 

Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience of working effectively as a team.  The ILC can be a busy working environment which requires applicants to be able to work under time pressure and their own initiative.  IT skills including Microsoft 365 and experience using relevant library catalogue software such as Heritage is also required.

The full-time salary range for the role is £37,676 - £41,550, including fringe allowance.  

The actual salary range based on full time, term-time plus 2 weeks is £33,753 - £37,224.
