The S7 Consortium (Bexhill, BHASVIC, Collyer’s, Esher, Godalming, Reigate, Varndean and Woking) is a well-established partnership of leading Sixth Form Colleges committed to pursuing excellence through collaboration. Since 2002, S7 has grown into a dynamic network supporting the development of hundreds of staff annually through shared practice, innovation and professional learning.

We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to become our next Director.

This is a unique system leadership role, ideal for an experienced senior leader who thrives on partnership working and collective improvement.

Main Purpose of Role:
The Director of the S7 Consortium of Sixth Form Colleges is a dynamic and strategic leader responsible for overseeing and managing all collaborative activities within the consortium. This role involves organising and delivering staff development courses, fostering professional growth of staff
across the consortia, and ensuring the effective implementation of joint initiatives. The Director will work closely with senior staff at member colleges to help drive continuous improvement and enhance educational outcomes.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
● Strategic Planning:
   Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the consortium's shared objectives
   Monitor and evaluate the progress of strategic initiatives and report to the consortium Principals
   Identify opportunities for growth and development within the consortium.
● Leadership and Management:
   Contribute to the strategic leadership to the consortium, aligning activities with strategic goals
   Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture among member colleges.
   Lead and manage S7 administrative staff including undertaking performance reviews
   Manage the day-to-day operations of the consortium, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
● Staff Development:
   Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff across the consortium.
   Design, organise, and deliver high-quality staff development courses and workshops, teaching modules whenever necessary
   Organise and actively participate in residential courses as required, ensuring smooth logistics, effective scheduling, and a supportive environment for all     
      participants. Stay on-site to provide assistance, address any issues, and enhance the overall experience.
   Evaluate the effectiveness of staff development initiatives and make improvements as needed.
● Consortium Activities:
   Coordinate and manage all joint activities and projects undertaken by the consortium.
   Facilitate communication and collaboration between member colleges ‘including S7 networks of staff (e.g. Principals and functions (e.g. Q&C) convening
      new groups as relevant (e.g. Sustainability, A.I.).
   Oversee the planning and execution of consortium events, meetings, and conferences.
   Oversee the implementation ECT induction programme.
● Stakeholder Engagement:
   Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including college leaders, staff, and external partners.
   Represent the consortium at external events and meetings.
   Advocate for the consortium's interests and promote its achievements.
● Financial Management:
   Develop and manage the consortium's budget, ensuring financial sustainability.
   Secure funding and resources to support consortium activities.
   Monitor financial performance and report to the consortium Principals on an annual basis.

General Responsibilities
● Willingness and ability to undertake training needed in order to fulfil the changing requirements of the job.

VISUAL ARTS (PHOTOGRAPHY) TECHNICIAN

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced technician to support the practical work in our well-equipped Visual Arts Department. You will be part of a collaborative technician team, reporting to the Visual Arts Studio Manager and working closely with the Head of Department to ensure the smooth running of our practical learning environments.

The successful candidate will primarily be based in the Photography and Graphics studios, providing technical support to staff and students. However, flexibility is essential, as the role also involves supporting other areas within the department, including Fine Art and Textiles.

Contract details:

  • Term Time Only, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 1 day to be worked during the college holidays)
  • Full time: 38 hours per week
  • Normal working pattern: Monday 8:10-16:10; Tuesday 8:10 - 16:40; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8:10-16:10 (with a 30 minute unpaid break each day)
  • Salary: £24,994 per annum (based on spine point 11 of grade 4 in the Support Staff pay spine for which full-time salary is £28, 634 per annum).
  • Salary increases annually up to £27,342 over 4 years (based on a full-time salary £31,324 per annum)

The College is eager to appoint a dynamic and innovative Head of Department for our Modern Foreign Languages Department on a full‑time or substantial part-time basis. The successful candidate will lead the department in the delivery of A‑Level Spanish and French, taking responsibility for all teaching staff, language assistants and course management. They will be an outstanding teacher of Spanish with a strong understanding of the A‑Level curriculum. Ability to teach A level French as well is desirable but not essential. Previous experience of managing a successful team, or the ambition and potential to progress into a Head of Department role, is vital.
